This page will inform you how to reserve books from the library. To find out more information about what type of books you can borrow, please head to our book resources page.
You can place a hold yourself through the library catalogue (you will need to know your library card number and password). Follow the instructions below or watch our short animation on how to do it.
You can reserve books in five easy steps:
- Step 1: head to the library catalogue (link below)
- Step 2: Search for the book or topic you are after. Search via keyword, title, author, etc. You can filter to a particular library too.
- Step 3: From the results list, click on the book you like, then press 'Place Hold.' Unless stated, you can place holds on books from other libraries.
- Step 4: Login within your library card number and password. You can press ‘Forgot your password?’ to reset, otherwise contact the library.
- Step 5: Choose the library you want to pick the book up from. It is fine to leave the date box blank. Then click confirm.
You will get an email to notify you that book is ready for collection. The time it takes for a book to arrive will depend on whether it is already on loan to another user.
