Using the Library

ESNEFT Staff

All ESNEFT staff can register for library membership.  

• The easiest way to sign up is to complete our online membership form via the link below. 
• We aim to process new registrations within one working day of submission.
• You will get an automated email once we have processed your membership request, where you will get a Library ID number and will be able to set your password. 
• Once you have your username and password you can start borrowing print books via our self-service machines. 
• You can also visit us during office hours and sign up with a member of the library team. If you visit, please make sure you have your hospital ID badge.
• If you prefer, please download a membership form and either email or return in person.
• We also encourage you to register for an OpenAthens account, so you can access our online resources. Visit our OpenAthens page for more. 

Students on Placement

ESNEFT Libraries provides services to students who are on placement with the trust.

• To register for library services please complete our registration form via the link below. 
• If you are a student on placement, please select the student option on question 1. 
• If you are employed by ESNEFT but are also studying, please select the ESNEFT option on question 1. 
• We aim to process new registrations within one working day of submission.
• You will get an automated email once we have processed your membership request, where you will get a Library ID number and will be able to set your password. 
• Once you have your username and password you can start borrowing print books via our self-service machines. 
• You can also visit us during office hours and sign up with a member of the library team. If you visit, please make sure you have your hospital ID badge.

St Helena and St Elizabeth Hospices

We also provide some library services via a service level agreement (sla) with St. Elizabeth and St. Helena Hospices:

• To register for the library please complete our registration via the link below. 
• Please select hospice option on question 1. 
• We aim to process new registrations within one working day of submission.
• You will get an automated email once we have processed your membership request, where you will get a Library ID number and will be able to set your password.

Volunteers

We also provide some library services to individuals who volunteer at ESNEFT, such as members of the Patient Information Leaflet Readers Panel. A popular service for our volunteers is access to the Libby app.

• To register, please complete our registration form using the link below.
• Membership is available only to those who volunteer with ESNEFT.  If you stop volunteering your access to ESNEFT Libraries will cease. 
• ESNEFT Libraries reserves the right to refuse membership.
• Some questions in the form relate only to staff-based employees, so please enter N/A where these do not apply.
• We aim to process new registrations within one working day. Access to Libby (if applicable) will be available within seven working days of registering.
• Please note that out of hours access, OpenAthens access, IT and printing facilities are not available to volunteers.
