ESNEFT Libraries have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with staff at St. Elizabeth and St. Helena Hospices.  The library team are here to help hospice staff access the following:

Are you a member? 

Before you can access any of our services, you will need to be a member of the library.  Its free and easy to sign up.  Simply head to our joining page and click on our membership form. 

Hospice Bulletin

We produce a regular current awareness bulletin for hospice staff.  This tailored bulletin will highlight some of the latest research and guidance around End of Life and Palliative care.  View the latest bulletin below.  Some past editions can be found in the 'Previous Editions’ tab.   

Physical Books

ESNEFT Libraries have a diverse range of books, which can borrowed by hospice staff. 

  • To borrow books you will need an active library account.  Visit our borrowing books page to find out more. 
  • Please view a selection of our End of Life and Palliative care collection below. 
  • Our full End of Life and Palliative care reading list can be accessed via the link below.  You can reserve books on our catalogue with your Library card number (begins within either CGH or IMR) and password. 
  • Email esneftlibrary@esneft.nhs.uk for assistance.

  • Our highly regarded evidence search service is designed to help you get the most relevant and varied evidence. 
  • We can search the healthcare databases and other resources to find you relevant, high quality information for patient care, complex conditions, audits, quality improvement and research projects.
  • We find evidence-based information to support you.
  • We can also help teach you how to search databases via our 1:1 support sessions.  Please see contact us via email to book a session.

Libby - eBooks and Audiobooks

Meet Libby:

The Libby app is the place to go for ESNEFT staff to borrow eBooks and audiobooks which are fictional, recreational or support wellbeing.  Scroll down to see the type of titles you can access and find links to our tailored collections.

The benefits of Libby:

  • FREE eBooks
  • FREE Audiobooks
  • A FREE app to download so you can listen on your Phone on Tablet (Android and IOS) whenever you like. 
  • Loans automatically expire after a certain loan period (this varies) so no need to worry about returning or fines.
